Blue Ribbon Campaign: Awareness campaign to bring attention to childhood cancers.
In year 2007 we started the journey of ROLF with the Blue Ribbon Campaign (BRC). The mission of ROLF-BRC is to bring attention to childhood cancer and survivorship issues as well as improving the lives of children suffering from cancer. ROLF-BRC wishes to brighten the lives of seriously and terminally ill children in order to take their minds off the pain, fear and isolation of their illnesses.
We launched the ROLF-BRC campaign on October 25, 2007 by distributing 100,000 units of coin boxes to the public. Members of the public were requested to fill up the coin boxes and submit the donation to “CIMB TRUSTEE BHD FOR ROLF-BRC” at any of the CIMB branch nationwide. Through this campaign, we managed to collect half a million ringgit and distributed the gross collection to 9 legitimate foundations on April 3, 2008. The donation fund was audited by KPMG, the ROLF-BRC’s Official Auditor.
ROLF CUP- The All-Star Charity Soccer Tournament was one of the awareness programs held in conjunction with the campaign. 120 celebrities and soccer players from Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia took part in the event. The Semi-Final match was held in Penang on November 29, 2007 and the Final, in Kuala Lumpur on December 1, 2007. The support from the media was very strong and the response from public was tremendous.
With the slogan “Every Cent Raised, Every Cent Donated”, we, the Founder/ Organizer disbursed the gross collection of RM450,000 evenly to the 9 beneficiaries on April 3, 2008.
