ROLF Gold Ribbon Grant-A-Wish Campaign (ROLF GOLD) was initiated to improve the life of the underprivileged children. The campaign returns for its 6th edition to grant the wishes of some 600 children in Malaysia, India and Indonesia. First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been supporting and believing in this campaign, many since the first day it was launched. Having a favorite community work platform has an intangible benefits to all of us. It gives us a feeling of team work, a coming together for a valuable accomplishment and a shared goal.
ROLF GOLD received great support from the corporate organizations and individuals who fulfilled wishes of 5,000 underprivileged children since year 2009. Besides granting the wishes of the underprivileged children in Malaysia and India, ROLF are also reaching out to the children in Indonesia this year.
In ROLF GOLD, we uphold one principle: all donors are requested to find out what the children need before they donate. Children can request for items such as books, sports equipment, stationery, art supplies, toys, clothing and the like. Those who are disabled can request for mobility aids, medical equipment and groceries. The gifts do not have to be expensive as long as they are new. The only exception is for electronic gadgets where reconditioned items are allowed. For special cases whereby the child requests for funding for medical treatment the case will be reviewed and handled by the committee. Please take note that Items for the wishes should be purchased by the donors and there will be no cash donations.
ROLF encourages the donors to meet, interact and bond with the children. (Sometimes our physical assistance may prove much more helpful than a monetary donation.) Giving our time may provide as much help as money. Besides，we encourage donors to plan their assistance to the children in a way that allows the children to maintain their dignity and self-esteem. Treat them as you would wish to be treated if you needed assistance.
This year the wish matching programs starts from 8th October and the Gift Handover Ceremonies will be held in the weekends of November and December. The children are in for a treat as ROLF also plans to take them on an excursion.
ROLF, like a colorful rainbow, is a bridge of hope that connects all the loving hearts on earth. We hope that the Rainbow Energy produces a bounty of goodness and benefits that will last far beyond a generation. All of this goodwill and emphasis on sharing and giving will help to cultivate a harmonious environment and a better world to live in.

生命的彩虹金絲带一晃眼就六周年了! 我要感谢一班永不厌倦的彩虹战士，谢谢你们一直很努力的呵护着彩虹活动， 并把它的理念推广。其实， 慈善活动是良心事业，办活动的出发点很重要，活动的意义亦要明确，原则要坚守，不能为办而办。
生命的彩虹不是一个让人炫耀财富名誉地位的平台。它的成立是为了让各阶层的人士可以在没有金钱压力下做好事的一项活动 我想生命的彩虹的精神, 就是不管参于的人是什么肤色, 什么身份地位, 在彩虹的领域里, 大家的身份平等, 并拥有共同理念， 一起为 孩子们的未来努力. 所以, 我们会坚持让生命的彩虹的理念一直延续下去,让大家有个共同的空间, 为弱势族群尤其是孩童做些事情.
在活动开始之前, 我們通常会花上好长的时间跟各孤儿院沟通，然后才讓小朋友们自行許願，若是智障的小朋友，則由院方提出要求，接着我们会制定一份禮品清單，讓公眾人士們認捐。我们发现許多人做慈善捐助給孤兒院， 都不会事先去了解小朋友需要的是什么， 他們总是把他们認為对的東西捐出去。有些捐了很多舊衣舊玩具, 尤其是食品，吃不完堆放到過期，又不能出售換錢，这样的幫助反而成为受惠者的負擔。 其实，在孤儿院里长大的小朋友，心中真正想擁有的，也和其他普通孩子一樣，所以,生命的彩虹设下规矩, 大家买给小朋友的礼品不必昂贵, 但一定要新的。很多孤兒院的小孩從來沒有擁有過屬于自己的新衣、新鞋、新玩具，所以我們呼吁捐助者務必要照顧孩子們的心情和自尊心，不要拿家里不要的东西当礼物送出，这是一项圆梦活动，不是随意布施的项目。
生命的彩虹一再強調，主办当局不会替捐赠者代买或代送礼物, 主要原因是我们要借着这个机会让捐赠者和受惠者相遇,并建立感情, 并希望在每次活动过后, 捐赠者能继续照顾和督促这些小朋友们,關心他們的近況，這種長期的關懷，比起一次過的捐助更有意義.
今年生命的彩虹除了替本地孤儿院的小朋友圆梦，也会帮助在印度和印尼的弱势族群。 从十月八日开始,我们将在官方网站例小朋友的梦想,然后接受大众报名,再进行圆梦配对.我们也将在十一及十二月其中的四个周末安排捐赠者将礼物送到许愿孩子们的手上,并和小孩们欢庆世界儿童日。如想获取更多活动讯息和资料，请查询 www.rolfcommunity.org 或者 www.facebook.com/rolfcommunity。
