Rainbow of Life Forces Campaign (ROLF) was initiated by CreatiVision Group in year 2007 with the objective of improving the life of the underprivileged children. The Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign turns 13 years old this year. I would like to thank ROLFers for bringing their expertise and LOVE and engaging in such fruitful, constructive and happy experiences together throughout the 13 years of journey. The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard but must be felt with the heart.
ROLF consists of 7 campaigns: Blue, Orange, Gold, Green, Yellow, Purple and Red Ribbon. Specifically, ROLF is a community platform for donors from all walks of life, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, religion and nationality to fulfil their social commitment of cherishing the lives of underprivileged and imperilled children. It is also a practical training ground to empower and groom youths to lead in community work and organization. ROLF do not raise fund in public. The campaign encourages members of the public to make a difference by contributing their time as such an effort is an infinitely more precious resource than their monetary donation when it comes to bettering children’s welfare.
What will ROLF do in year 2020?
1. ROLF Gold Ribbon – awareness to grant and fulfil wishes of the underprivileged children
ROLF Gold Ribbon receive great support from the members of public who have fulfilled wishes of 8000 children so far. This year we are granting wishes of another 200 underprivileged children in Malaysia. Besides, we are working hand in hand with DEBRA Malaysia to create awareness and grant the wishes of children who suffer from Epidermolysis Bullosa (Butterfly Children). The details of EB will be briefed under ROLF Blue Ribbon. This year the wish-matching process starts from 1st of October and the Gift-handover Ceremony will be held on 9th and 10th of November, 2019.
2. ROLF Blue Ribbon – awareness campaign to bring attention to life threatening childhood diseases
One of the missions of ROLF Blue Campaign in 2020 is to create awareness and support children who suffer from Epidermolysis Bullosa or EB through DEBRA Malaysia. DEBRA Malaysia is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting adults and children living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) in Malaysia.
What is Epidermolysis Bullosa? Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare genetic connective tissue disorder. There is no treatment or cure. There are many genetic and symptomatic variations of EB, but all share the prominent symptom of extremely fragile skin that blisters and tears from minor friction or trauma. Internal organs and bodily systems can also be seriously affected by the disease. EB is always painful, often pervasive and debilitating, and is in some cases lethal before the age of 30. Daily wound care, pain management, and protective bandaging are the only options available for people with EB. Those born with EB are often called “Butterfly Children” because as the analogy goes, their skin is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly. Thus far, there are approximately 100 families registered with DEBRA Malaysia.
The second mission of ROLF Blue Ribbon is to collaborate and support a group of Malaysian doctors who volunteer their time in free medical services and medical camps in rural areas of Malaysia and some under- developed countries.
3. ROLF Orange Ribbon – Youth Social Responsibility (YSR)
Year 2020 is a big year for ROLF Orange Ribbon as we decide to organize ROLF International Youth Assembly and ROLF International Youth Short Film Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Big theories and advice may be inspiring, however, if we don’t provide training and guidance to make youths act on the issues, theories and advice may simply be just words. ROLF will continue to host seminars, motivational talks and workshops to make the youths understand and appreciate the significance of community projects and encourage them to participate (and get hands-on experience and organizational skills).
4. ROLF Green Ribbon – environment education for children and youths.
What does it take to get today’s young people excited about environmental conservation? I believe that hands-on work in a natural or outdoor setting gives them real-world experiences that boost their interest and enthusiasm of the natural world. ROLF will be facilitating a land as training ground and green camps for children and youths. ROLF are trying to influence youths to do more in environment protection while nurturing mindful and skilful young generations who can chart their way towards a greener, more sustainable and healthier living environment. Environment education is a lifelong concern and environment awareness is a necessary task.
5. ROLF Yellow Ribbon – a gratitude campaign
We don’t want to be a “No Thank you”, “No Sorry” and “No Please” nation. Sometimes life gets too busy and we forget to be thankful for people who give it all to us. ROLF Yellow Ribbon have been promoting the “Gratitude Campaign” in different universities and colleges. This is a long-term -subtle mission to inculcate gracefulness as much as gratefulness to the youths.
6. ROLF Purple Ribbon – educational programs for the underprivileged children
In year 2020, our main concern is still in the English proficiency programs for the children in rural areas. We will also focus much on the fitness and wellness education.
7. ROLF Red Ribbon – aids to children in emergency cases (like tsunami and earthquakes)
We will continue to organize first-aid training programs and fundamental outdoor survival courses in different countries to prepare youths to volunteer their services when aids are needed during the emergencies.
Doing good for others is not an obligation or a task. It should be a joyful experience and a blessing for being able to help. When I open my eyes every morning, I am thankful to be able to see the beautiful world for another day. I want to share what I know, tell you how beautiful this world is, and how to use my life to influence yours.
