ROLF: Red Ribbon Campaign

– aids to the children in emergency cases like earthquakes, tsunami and floods.

In December 2014, heavy seasonal rains and strong winds affected most parts of Malaysia. The rains caused severe flooding in the East Coast – Terengganu, Pahang, and Kelantan states. By 31 Dec, at least 21 people had been killed and almost a quarter of a million people had been displaced. Kelantan was the worst-hit state, with 14 deaths and more than 158,000 people displaced. The severe condition had stirred ROLF into action. With the support from Malaysia Red Crescent, ROLF organized a fund raising event at Padang Esplanade, Penang on 31st December, 2014 to encourage goodwill and charity among Malaysians for the benefits of Malaysians in need. The gross collection of donation fund on that day was channeled directly to MRC’s Flood Relief.

In May 2015, in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal killing thousands and leaving children living without food and medical aids. ROLF supported a free clinic in Kathmandu and made an impassionate plea to Malaysians to donate medical supplies. On 1st June, 2015, the Royal Malaysia Air Force transported close to 9 tons of medicines and relief supplies to Kathmandu, Nepal, of which about 3.5 tons of medicines and medical supplies were from ROLF’s collection.

ROLF will roll out courses like Outdoor Survival Skill training, First aids and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for ROLFers who are enthusiastic to join the rescue force.
