Founder’s Message

Rainbow of Life Forces (ROLF), a non-profit campaign that funds educational and charitable efforts for children and youth, was initiated in 2007. ROLF consists of seven small campaigns; Blue, Orange, Gold, Green, Purple, Red and Yellow Ribbon.

After bringing changes to the lives of children living with cancer with our Blue Ribbon Campaign in year 2007, ROLF launched The Orange Ribbon Campaign – Youth Social Responsibility in 2008. Since then, youth from universities, colleges and high schools have been trained with the essential skills in social works.

The Green Ribbon Campaign was launched in May this year aimed at promoting environmental education and green living through a practical approach for children. Forty underprivileged children from four orphanages received lessons on outdoor survival skills, basic first aid and the importance of living green through recreational activities when they camped for a night at Penang Hill on 30^th May to mark the World No Tobacco Day.

This year, ROLF continues its Gold Ribbon Campaign – Grant A Wish on the Universal Children’s Day, in efforts to improve the livelihood of underprivileged children. The campaign received great support from corporate organizations and individuals who fulfilled wishes of 400 children from 8 orphanages in 2009 and 1100 children from 13 centers in 2010.

The wish matching program will start from the mid of September, 2011 and the wish granting ceremonies will be held in 4 weekends of November. The children are in for a treat as ROLF also plans to take them on an excursion. ROLF, like a colorful rainbow, is a bridge of hope that connects all the loving hearts on earth. 生命的彩虹，创始于2007年, 是一项由CREATIVISION资助的非盈利儿童关怀计划。 生命的彩虹涵盖7项彩虹丝带运动，为蓝丝带、橙丝带、金丝带, 绿丝带, 紫丝带、红丝带和黄丝带。每项丝带，一旦开启， 就会长期性操作，照顾和帮助在不同领域遭遇不幸的儿童。

2007年, 生命的彩虹以蓝丝带运动掀开了序幕并且透过此运动改善了许多患癌儿童的生活。 2008年，我们推介了橙丝带运动之青少年社会责任计划。到目前为止，生命的彩虹支持和赞助了许多大学和学院生等所筹办的慈善活动。同时，也训练了这些年青人如何以正确的理念和技巧来执行社会服务计划。

2009年我们发动了金丝带之儿童节圆梦活动. 这项活动主要的目的是要唤起大家对一些不幸小朋友们的关怀, 听听他们心灵深处的愿望, 然后再替他们圆梦。 您们可能想不到，一件很便宜的新衣, 新鞋,或是一个新的铅笔盒,对一位在孤儿院长大的小朋友来说， 意义有多深重， 因为有些小朋友, 从出世到现在,都不曾拥有一件完全属于自己的新物品。由于受到大众的大力支持，这项活动在2009年及2010年一共圆了将近1500小朋友的梦想。

于今年五月, 生命的彩虹推出了绿丝带运动之绿色环保教育计划 。 此运动的宗旨是希望孩子们可以亲生体验并透过大自然环境从中提高环保意识和了解爱护绿色的重要。 为配合今年五月三十日世界无烟日， 我们共带了40位分别来自4间孤儿院的孩子前往槟城升旗山渡过了2天 1 夜的绿色生活营。 孩子们也从中学习了室外生存技能，急救常识和绿色生活的重要性。 我们希望每年都能在不同的地方办户外的绿色生活营，让小朋友们与大自然共处，再教导他们如何爱绿和护绿。

接下来，生命的彩虹将继续主办金丝带之儿童节圆梦活动，籍此希望可以改善贫困儿童的生活。今年九月十九日开始，我们将在官方网站例出十家孤儿院和残障中心的小朋友的梦想，然后接受大众报名，再进行圆梦配对。 我们也将在11月其中的四个周末安排捐赠者将礼物送到许愿孩子们的手上，并和小孩们欢庆世界儿童日。我们在此声明， 主办当局不会替捐赠者代买或代送礼物, 主要原因是我们要借着这个机会让捐赠者和受惠者相遇,并建立感情， 希望在每次活动过后， 捐赠者能继续照顾和督促这些小朋友们.今年,我们也计划带孩子出外游览如参观制造厂,看电影, 游车河,或参观动物园等.如想获取更多活动讯息和资料，请查询 www.rolfcommunity.org 或者 www.facebook.com/rolfcommunity。若有任何更好的建议，请致电告知。
